The weekend was nice and drove down to Atlantic City for the day. Walked on the boardwalk and ducked into Caesar's Mall for some a/c and checked out the water show there.
I logged into my Verizon account online to upgrade my honey's cell to my Eris and saw that it was not available. I did a search and came across this article.
The reports sent out by Droid-Life states that Verizon has stealthily bid adieu to the Droid Eris smartphone.
It was further stated that the site Verizon has been filtering their smartphone in order of Android then HTC and it was seen that the Eris has completely been erased except for some accessories and support documents.
Goodby Eris. You have served me well
According to the reports it was stated that Eris has completely been "phaseout/closeout" and next to follow the league is Droid Incredible.
Although Incredible is considered to be Verizon's top-of-the-line Android device and was only launched two months ago.
The removal of Eris and the Tour has added more fuel to the facts making the rumor even stronger.
Matter, the 2,600-capacity superclub in Greenwich, has closed for the summer, and its sister club Fabric is up for sale. Is this down to a reliance on big-name DJs?
Dance music is supposed to be the epitome of DIY culture. In the late 1980s, when wide-eyed evangelists began to spread the word about a new vibe emerging from underground raves and warehouse parties, the most enticing thing was that the crowd was the star; the action took place in the audience, not in the DJ booth. Flash forward a couple of decades and it's clear that things have changed. Now, it's all about big-name DJs – the Tiestos, the David Guettas or the DeadMau5s. The celebrity culture that has infiltrated British society is alive and well in clubland.
A price war is brewing in the growing market for electronic reading devices. Barnes & Noble, the national bookseller, announced Monday that it was dropping the price of its six-month-old Nook e-reader to $199 from $259 and introducing a new version of the device, which connects to the Internet only over Wi-Fi networks, for $149.
Anybody who knows me, knows I love ice cream. I thought I could eat about any concoction any ice cream maker could make but I think I'll pass on this one.
A bizarre ice cream flavoured to taste like fish and chips has been released to get Brits eating something other than vanilla.
A recent survey found that nine out of ten Brits opt for the traditional taste rather than more adventurous flavours. As a result ice cream makers created this…
The cod-flavoured ice cream - which is being launched nationwide - is coated in a vanilla and pepper batter and comes served with potato ice cream chips.
But it's not the sole odd flavour on offer at plaices -- others include Barratt Refreshers, Vimto and Golden Syrup Sponge. Jenny Bostock, of Fredericks Dairies which came up with the ice cream said: "The unique Fish & Chip flavour may sound like a surprising combination, but it tastes delicious and will certainly raise a smile with our customers.”
Among the announcements at Google’s I/O conference yesterday were several that are directly relevant to the music industry, including a new Android music store, and plans for a Google TV service that will take YouTube to people’s living rooms.
Alright, not only do I DJ but I have a B.S. Degree in Computer Science. I often help out a lot of people regarding their PC's. I will be giving you some insight as to what apps you can use on your PC to make life a little easier.
What's important to keep your PC humming? Check out the answer below.
Antivirus is so important!!! In the age of the Internet & e-mail you got to get antivirus. Most ISP's (Internet service providers) offer antivirus free if you continue to use their service. Usually, it's the big one's McAfee or Norton and they offer firewall, identity protection, etc. I use Norton cause that's what Comcast offers now.
If you don't have a provider that offers you Antivirus and you don't have any cash to shell out for a subscription. Here is what you can you use, AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition you can get it here and check out the video below;
Now that we have the Antivirus covered let's move on to the firewall. Windows XP and 7 come with a firewall but with hackers doing reverse engineering they make their way around it. I recommend ZoneAlarm Free Edition, you can get that here check out the video below;
OK, you didn't have these apps installed on your PC and now you have Spyware or Malware. Although, there are some other apps out there that a lot of people say is better, here is what I recommend, Spybot Search and Destroy you can get that here (oh yeah, it's free too) and check out the video below;
Now let's move on to some system tools and there is a company that has three of the apps I use you can get them from here
CCleaner is the number-one tool for cleaning your Windows PC. It protects your privacy online and makes your computer faster and more secure. Easy to use and a small, fast download. (from the developer)
Use Defraggler to defrag your entire hard drive, or individual files - unique in the industry. This compact and portable Windows application supports NTFS and FAT32 file systems. (from the developer)
Accidentally deleted an important file? Lost something important when your computer crashed? No problem! Recuva recovers files deleted from your Windows computer, Recycle Bin, digital camera card, or MP3 player. And it's free! (from the developer)
OK, need office software but can't afford it? Here is the skinny on some info you may not know, if you work for a big company, software company, etc, etc. Some companies participate in a program where you can get Microsoft applications at a discounted rate. If you are a student, that's like money in the bank, many universities and colleges participate in programs where you can get the software you need for free or deeply discounted.
If this doesn't apply to you, check out OpenOffice.org and you can get that here for FREE!!!
CNET review
A credible rival to MS Office, OpenOffice.org includes powerful applications for making text documents, spreadsheets, presentations, diagrams, and databases, as well as HTML and XML documents. Not only does it let you edit basic documents, such as letters and faxes, it also handles equations and complex and multipart documents with bibliographies, reference tables, and indexes.
The interface is similar to that of MS Office, and even advanced Office users will find almost everything they're used to: templates, collaborative features (versions, recording changes), macros, and even a programming language. OOo, as it's known, lets you open and save documents in formats as diverse as MS Office formats, PDF, HTML, and XML. It can also import files from those formats, as well as WordPerfect and others. However, it normally saves files in the open-standard Oasis OpenDocument XML format, for maximum compatibility with other applications.
Check out the video below;
Ok you got the OpenOffice but need an outlook app? Got a free one for you too. Mozilla Thunderbird and with Add-ons you can get a calendar and contact add-on to complete the package. You can get it here and check out the video below;
From the Developer...

You need Photoshop but can't spent the loot to buy it cause you got to eat? Here is an alternative that I've used in the past and they have made some improvements since I've used it GIMP ( GNU Image Manipulation Program). Don't be fooled by the name, it offers all of the photo editing you need if you are working on a budget. You can get that here for FREE!!!
So I hope this info I've provided to you is helpful. Good Luck!
